Tell me how he's fake.... Do you know the guy???? You don't. You have no idea if his is how he is on a regular basis. Just appreciate what you got from him these past 4 yrs. When you respond like this you sound as knowledgable as the met fans who hated paul o'neil because of how mad he would get after his failures at the plate... How they'd wish they could find player on their team who cared like that.

Now back to Swisher. Here you have a guy who's admitting that he made a mistake.... not many guys do that. I too was killing Swisher for his performance in the playoffs but his 4 years as a whole........ and when you take a look at what we gave up to get him, was a success... The fact that he didn't produce in the playoffs says nothing. I can name you a bunch of HOF'er that didn't produce in th playoffs....

I always liked Swish. Not too many players play with the heart or intensity that he did each night. And not too many LOVED the team/city that they play for. Postseason sucked, but he was a productive, everyday player for us while he was here.

It NEVER ceases to amaze me how ridiculously hated Swisher is by all of you...

First of all, he gave us 4 above average productive years at the plate and in the field, did it with great fun & entertainment and cannot possibly be the scapegoat for the post season failures.

Second, I read he is expected to be offered 4yrs/$60-65mil....seriously, why not bring him back for that??? And if it doesn't fit into the budget, why would you ever bad mouth the guy on the way out? Especially, one who obviously loved NY and the fans...

You people act like he was Kevin Brown or Carl Pavano...players who legitimately should be hated...
