Hamilton brings power and the ability to get on base.
Bourn brings defense, speed and the ability to get on base.

If Bourn declines offensively, he could probably at least still provide at least average defense.If Hamilton declines, he becomes useless very quickly. We could however, utilize the DH to prolong his production.

Hamilton comes with obvious higher upside offensively, but with a bigger drop of risk. I view Bourn as lower upside, but also with a lower risk of drop off.[/QUO




truth be told 2 of the guys that GMZ has aggressively targeted (napoli and butler) are defensive liabilities. He wants a RH bat and i dont think bay scratched that itch, ... morse is very feesible.

i was repulsed so much that bay was our 1st offseason signing i seriously had to hold back on going on a rant to fire GMZ, but i am optimistic that he has a plan A, B, and C that i can get behind once the dominoes fall.

however, now that we did sign bay, im hoping he can have a redemption year, i think he has the upside to be a 7 hole DH vs LHP. Besides last year that was wrecked by injuries hes been good vs LHP. and if morse is so bad at 1b maybe bay can be slightly better.

He probably will get fired though just because of Howard Lincoln and Chuck Armstrong they always do weird things like when they let Bavasi ruin our team instead of firing him.

Swisher and Bourn at the right price we aren't getting Myers with Dayton Moores crazy asking price don't really see the need of Jackson unless we trade our pitching prospects two of our prospects could slide into the rotation right now.

I am all for a Myers trade right with you guys just think Dayton Moore isn't going to step down from his demands.

Yea but we won't get one like the Rangers,Dodgers and Angels got we will get a nice TV contract but they have bigger markets.

Another problem is star power this team doesn't have any outside of Felix so they better get somebody fast harder to sell to a network.

If Chris Hansen ends up getting a Basketball team it would be in the Mariners best interest to partner up with a TV Deal like Boston does with the Bruins and how the Yankees have the Yes Network.
