That's irrelevant because all you are doing is switching the players names. You would get the exact same responses that you see eveywhere else about Amare except the names would be different.

    No one would bench anyone.

Bring him off the bench, coming off knee surgery, and allow him find a niche and rhythm within the gameplan that has got the team off to the best start since the 70s? Let him work his way back up to the starting unit? Yea, I'd probably do that.

Throw a player who hasn't played an NBA game in 8 months directly into the starting lineup game 1 of his return from knee surgery, for a team who is currently off to its best start in 40 years? Nah, I'd probably not do that.

Since when does benching mean bring someone off the bench for 20-30 minutes?

Benching means end of the bench, dog house, no PT aka Nate Robinson got benched after shooting at his own basket.

You're misunderstanding what i mean by bench...and he played a preseason game which he looked pretty damn good in

It'll probably be the same situation, where Melo would come off the bench in the beginning. However, there would be MUCH MORE URGENCY to incorporate him into the starting lineup and meshing with the rest of the team.

I give Melo more attention because teams DONT win championships without a player like Melo. You need someone who can carry the team in the big moments that have the complete package. Championship teams in recent memory all had "that guy" too, Dirk, Kobe, Lebron, Wade,

Amare did great for the 1/2 of the first season he was here, but we all knew that Amare wasnt capable of sustaining that level of play.

They arent playing that great, you see exactly where he fits in every game, why put a man of his caliber to earn his minutes if he is one of the big two

but Nate was arguably the best player on the team and most exciting and what did he do when he came back against ATL ...January 1st 2010 ? 41 on WOODYS Hawks and thats what you guys are saying Amare should do ...but alright ...if you say that ...Then Why Should he Not Start If he's getting his minutes ? ...not immediatly but eventually ...hes not Manu , he's Amare ..the 6th man title belongs to J.R & J.r only ...Dolan didnt give the man a $100 million dollar contract to eventually sit on the bench ...this isnt al harrington, Nate , Or J.R Or Even Jamal ...This is a perenial all star

Ummm he actually played great his whole first season or are you forgetting game 1 of the 2011 playoffs.

I see your point but Amare is just as important as Melo they cant go far if one is without the other

    The bold is not true.
With how Amar'e has hurt himself the last 2 post seasons with Melo being here its quite clear Amar'e is the reason why he won't work here.

The team isn't winning a title with out Tyson at Center and a fully healthy Melo. We've pretty much gotten past the point of needing Amar'e. We need him to be serviceable and not hurt himself for a 3rd straight post season. Amar'e blew his star card last season when he punched a Fire extinguisher.
