The Boston Red Sox made a minor move on Wednesday, trading right-handed pitcher Zach Stewart to the Pittsburgh Pirates for a player to be named later.
Stewart, who came to Boston as part of the Kevin Youkilis trade with the White Sox, had been designated for assignment late last week in a move to free up space on the 40-man roster, leaving them 10 days to either trade or release him.
The 26-year-old went 0-2 with a 8.58 ERA in two starts for the Red Sox in 2012 and was 3-5 with a 3.94 ERA in 11 starts for the Triple-A PawSox.
We are getting McCutchen baby!!!!!
On a serious note I guess we have yet to see what Youkilis really netted us in the trade.
, which is the only thing that makes this trade of any note.
