Look at the teams with Shaq. Rick Fox, Horry, Fisher, they were a team of 2 stars and role players. When Kobe won back2back with Gasol, they weren't loaded either. This current season is the only year he's had a lineup of All Stars. You people on here need to get a grip on reality and let loose on your Kobe hate. Jealousy will get you no where.

I think Kobe will finish at around 8-10 for me personally, the great thing about Kobe is his longevity and not his peak, He's kept himself in amazing shape and is still performing at his age which amazing and practically unheard of considering the minutes he's logged. His peak will never be considered top 10 which it shouldn't and that's the only knock on Kobe. There really isn't one year you can say, Woah Kobe was easily the best player in the league which is why for me he's outside of the top 5. Placing him anywhere after 13 is just crazy.

Conclusion

TOP 5 is biased towards Kobe
TOP 8-10 is about right
Under TOP 13 is biased against him.

I still don't get why ANYONE has Bill Russell ahead of Wilt Chamberlain in an individual comparison list. Wilt was by far the better player and despite popular belief on this site, Russell did not own Wilt ever. Wilt always outplayed Russell individually. Even if Russell held him below averages, Wilt still had the better of the matchups.

Bill Russell was completely inept offensively so how can anyone rate him so highly.

Seriously though, yes, he is a candidate, but I think by the end of the season he won't even be in the top five for voting.

I think if the votes were collected today, Tim Duncan would come away with the MVP award. He is palying amazing basketball right now.

And going against Kobe is the fact he plays with Dwight. Dwight is also a candidate at this point. His rebounding and defense is immensely improtant to LAL (even if his missing free throws is keeping games closer than they aught to be). I think teams are going to starting bring out the "Hack-a-Howard" method.... lol.
