    Bogut sidelined 3 more games

Warriors' Bogut sidelined for three more games

    Posted Nov 20, 2012 5:54 PM

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Golden State Warriors center Andrew Bogut is scheduled to miss at least the next three NBA games as he continues to strengthen his surgically repaired left ankle.

The team said on Tuesday that Bogut spent several days last week in Los Angeles to get treatment under the supervision of Dr. Richard Ferkel, who performed the surgery on the 7-foot Australian on April 27.

The Warriors, who host the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday, anticipate Bogut being able to run on a special anti-gravity treadmill this week and return to practice next Monday.

Bogut has missed the last six games. The 2005 No. 1 overall pick broke his ankle on Jan. 25 with Milwaukee and missed the rest of the season after being traded to Golden State for guard Monta Ellis.

It'll be nice to have him back. Hopefully he doesn't fall apart.

I think Bogut is meticulous when it comes getting right with history. He understands the bay area's history of injuries, primarily Steph Curry. He doesn't want to pull a Steph.

I doubt the 7 foot center makes decisions based on the 6'3 Guard.

Anyone read the article? It says anti-gravity treadmill. he can't even run on a regular treadmill.

No, that is not how you look at it. Anytime you can lighten the load, it will make it easier. Plus he is trying to condition without putting additional stress on the ankle. He gets enough of that from playing. How could you knock bogut for only doing what's best for his body? The anti gravity treadmill could be good for a myriad of people, not just for people severely injured. Running on a regular treadmill is not the best thing for your joints. Bogut suffered a severe ankle injury, you always got to take advantage of the best rehab plans, I don't see why you would laugh.

    Height is totally irrelevant.

It's just to pull less weight on his ankle. I'm sure they'll start low, probably around like 60%, then gradually work his way up to 100%.

The anti-gravity treadmill, all it does is reduce the amount of weight that is on one ankle. I'm sure they'll start at like 60% of Bogut's actual weight, then move up from there.
