He's saying he has confidence in Gibbons
You're welcome
"You are not acting like the person Mr. Rogers knew you could be."
AA- "Concerned" about all the prospects he traded. Always get attached to your own. Management wasn't unanimous about the trade. Talked to Billy Beane: "I've traded tons of great players. All that's important is that you like what you're getting back". AA thinks it will be win-win for both teams.
AA has already talked to Buehrle about pitbulls, going to work through it. AA thinks they're all excited to be here, but it is normal for them to be shocked in these circumstances.
He said JPA is the starter, and buck is the backup.
"You are not acting like the person Mr. Rogers knew you could be."
AA- Not "shopping" catchers. JPA is started, Buck is backup, D'Arnaud should get some seasoning in minors, Wilson is insurance depth
AA- Feels good about the team, but doesn't want to get comfortable. Wants to constantly look to get better. Thinks right now they have competitve team. Caveat is always health.

AA- Likes energy level of Reyes and Bonifacio, and the energy that they bring to their team. Likes flexibility of switch hitters, and speed/contact combinations.
Gibby- addresses dust-ups with Shea and Lilly. Says there is no room for physical confrontation, bad move on his part. Too old to get physical, wish it hadn't happened. That said, he is an intense guy, confronts things head on. He is passionate, and needs everyone pulling in the same direction. Doesn't expect problems, problems are rare. Thinks he played his best baseball after those incidents.
AA- didn't have a problem with confrontations. AA views it as a strong point. Hillenbrand needed to be dealt with, in front of his team mates. AA says if you push Gibby, he will react, which is important. Gibby pinned David Wells against a wall at one point.
AA- Looked into former teams re: Melky's suspension. Satisfied with answers Melky gave. Media will get one shot to ask Melky about it. AA says lots of guys get second chances (Giambi etc,) Melky is great teammate. AA willing to give second chances, but not third or fourth.
Gibby- really likes Melky. Thinks fans will love him.
AA- Gibby isn't a hardass. If you can't play for Gibby, you can't play for too many guys. Lots of respect level from former players. Everyone knows their place.
Gibby- Managerial role models: Davey Johnson (was his manager in NY). Appreciates his confidence, trust in players. Darryl Johnson is another role model.
Gibby- Likes Cabrera at top of order.
Wilner asks Gibby "is this your dream job?"
Gibby- Dream job would be in San Antonio (home town; where he managed last year). But, he left that job for this one.
Gibby- likes getting extra bases from steals, but wants to be smart about it, don't want to jeopardize middle of order bats.
