Marlins trade started with inquiring about Josh Johnson. Marlins started asking for some good young talent, and AA just wanted to make sure he was getting enough back. Never tries to "make a splash", just always trying to make team better.
AA- Decisions he has regretted most as GM are ones where he didn't trust gut, made decision based on optics, media reactions etc. Best decisions are ones where he thinks "we might get killed for this, but it's the right decision". Though for a second about what reception to hiring Gibby might be, but he is going with gut. Has more conviction in this hiring than any decision.
