"Has that decision been made? ESPN is saying that Smith told Trent Dilfer on the phone that the QB competition is still up for grabs. Kaepernick would be taking first-team reps this week and isn't officially starting on Sunday. At least not yet."
Who would you believe? A writer/reporter who has all the power in the world to start a false or true story/rumor? Or Alex Smith himself? I don't think Smith would lie to Dilfer. This Kaepernick-starting report could be a false alarm. I could still see Kaepernick starting, partly due to Smith's health. Smith hasn't been cleared and it's already Thursday. And I really don't think Harbaugh would get this decision out there to possibly be leaked on a WEDNESDAY NIGHT, especially if he was trying to keep the saints guessing. Trotter hasn't revealed any sources yet whereas ESPN's source is Alex Smith himself. But then again, Trotter could be absolutely correct. My opinion: let's just wait until Sunday morning. Nobody knows who to trust.
