"Has that decision been made? ESPN is saying that Smith told Trent Dilfer on the phone that the QB competition is still up for grabs. Kaepernick would be taking first-team reps this week and isn't officially starting on Sunday. At least not yet."

Who would you believe? A writer/reporter who has all the power in the world to start a false or true story/rumor? Or Alex Smith himself? I don't think Smith would lie to Dilfer. This Kaepernick-starting report could be a false alarm. I could still see Kaepernick starting, partly due to Smith's health. Smith hasn't been cleared and it's already Thursday. And I really don't think Harbaugh would get this decision out there to possibly be leaked on a WEDNESDAY NIGHT, especially if he was trying to keep the saints guessing. Trotter hasn't revealed any sources yet whereas ESPN's source is Alex Smith himself. But then again, Trotter could be absolutely correct. My opinion: let's just wait until Sunday morning. Nobody knows who to trust.

Why do you have to bash Alex Smith? Can't we be excited for the improvement at the QB position without taking shots at Alex? Keep in mind that Alex was having a Pro Bowl season this year and has always gave his all.

I don't see Alex Smith fans. I see 49er fans.

I am a fan of the team, not individual players.

NFL=Not For Long. I am a 49er fan, players come and go. I think this might be a good thing in the long run. Can't be afraid of change. Niners could/should be alot more explosive with Colin in there. Sunday can't get here soon enough!

Fantasy football has changed this... ALOT!
"All we care about are wins, stats are for losers" - Justin Smith
"We're the San Francisco 49ers. We can do whatever we want" - Jim Harbaugh

Only for those who participate in it and let it control their passion for the game. It's the main reason I refuse to play fantasy football anymore, it absolutely ruins the priorities of the sport, and fantasy does not focus on what's actually important in a game and new fans who jump into fantasy approach the game the wrong way and then go talking nonsense and spreading false information.
