With 2012 being Lester's worst year he's had, I think the Sox would need to give up a prospect or two in return for Myers if they're looking to give up Lester.

Just posted this in the MLB forum wanted to see what you guys would think of this...

It may be a bit of a stretch but since the Mets are rebuilding and have been unhappy with Davis at times I could see an offer of...

    Mets get:
    Hosmer
    Myers
    Montgomery

    Royals Get:
    Niese
    Famila
    Davis
    Gee

Keep either Famlia or Gee and offer Montero or Fulmer or Tapia.
    That's a very fair trade.

I honestly think it makes sense for both teams. Its very risky on our part but could really pay off if those 3 reached their potential. Davis is much better then Hosmer right now but Hosmer has more upside.

The reason I through Familia in over Tapia is mainly because he can go to the Royals right now and be in their Rotation. Thats what the Royals are probably looking for.

You can't give up both Gee and Familia.

You can if you bring back Pelfrey and Young. Still have Hefner as a long reliever/spot starter.

    Dickey
    Harvey
    Santana
    Wheeler
    Pelf

Young, Hefner, Mejia ready to step in barring an injury.

I agree in this scenario you dangle Tapia or Montero instead of Familia or Gee and see if they bite but if Gee and Familia is a deal breaker I would still consider that trade.

Wheeler will start in the minors.

Ok so if your the Mets would you trade Ike, Niese, Tapia, and Gee for Myers, Hosmer and Montgomery?

If you were a Royals GM/fan would you make the deal?

It probably isn't realistic because there is a lot of moving parts but I think it would prove to be beneficial to both teams.

If I'm the Royals yes, If I'm the Mets I better like Hosmer and Myers because Montgomery isn't that good.

I'd rather have Ike than Hosmer at the moment.

Realistically the deal should be Davis and Niese for Myers and Hosmer.

That deal makes much more sense. Montgomery adds nothing for the Mets as far as I can see. We might have to add a lesser prospect like Lagares, Marte or Tovar, but it would be worth it.

no way KC makes that deal. Davis and Hosmer are really just about a wash..... and no way Niese could get Myers straight up. Simply no way.

Why? And I wouldn't say Davis and Hosmer are a wash, Hosmer is more risky and Myers hasn't seen the big leagues yet.
