    Royals seeking pitching...

Even after acquiring right-hander Ervin Santana from the Los Angeles Angels, the Kansas City Royals are continuing to seek pitching and are willing to listen to trade offers for first baseman Eric Hosmer, third baseman Mike Moustakas, outfielders Alex Gordon and Wil Myers and designated hitter Billy Butler, reports Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald:

The Royals need pitching and are listening on first baseman Eric Hosmer, third baseman Mike Moustakas, outfielder Alex Gordon, DH Billy Butler and even outfield prospect Wil Myers.

While the Royals’ offense ranked around league average last season, their pitchers were close to the bottom of the majors in multiple categories. Kansas City pitchers ranked 23rd in ERA (4.30), 28th in quality starts and 27th in WHIP (1.41).

Jeremy Guthrie was a bright spot for the Royals after he was acquired from the Colorado Rockies over the summer. Unfortunately for Kansas City, Guthrie is a free agent and it’s not clear if he’ll be re-signed.

In addition to searching for rotation help via the free agent market, the Royals could also look to swap some of their young bats for talented arms. Silverman mentions that the Tampa Bay Rays, a team in need of offense, could be a match.

Wow. Would LOVE to get Myers. Gordon would be great too.

Jon Niese would be a perfect fit there.

Lets throw our hat in the ring and see if it fits anyone! Just checked on Myers, 21 years old. He would fit nicely!

    Royals seeking pitching...

I do not think you can get Myers for Niese, but if they can, then you have to do it.

But at the same time I would not trade Niese plus for him.

I would do Niese, Flores, Mejia and add Duda as a throw in for Myers. Would like to get back Mike Montgomery as a project Lefty that has fallen out of favor as a prospect in KC.

I think that Myers could be had for Niese and Duda, forget about Mejia and Flores...Niese/Duda/Flores/Mejia would have to net Myers + 1 or 2 more B prospects.

    Mazzoni?

Duda's value is at an all time low. Coming off a bad season and just broke his wrist. If Niese won't get it done for Myers, throwing in Duda most likely wouldn't do it either.

I would think that the Royals may consider a Wheeler for Myers deal. Just being realistic here.

I'm for holding onto Wheeler and Harvey. Next year with all the debt going away we can buy outfielders if it comes down to that. Duda and Niese for Myers, heres a quarter.. go ahead and make the call.
