Santos has poor pitching mechanics unless he changes that over the offseason he is susceptible to being injured again
Somebody start a thread on who won the Scott Maine waiver claim
This is a trade we judge years down the line.

It is far too early to judge who won this trade. If you want to judge who is "winning" this trade, I think it is a toss-up. Santos was ineffective early, and then injured for the remainder of the season, Molina took three steps back in the minors.
Currently calling this trade a tie.
U got some top notch winners on here that go out of theyre way to critisize a thread on an open discussion board. Instead of just not replying at all. Today could be one of the better days in Jays history and guys are whining about a thread. Hurry up and read this, im sure one of these cool guys will delete it
lol
How is it a toss up? We're talking about a 23 year old junkballer who put up a crummy season at AA versus a guy who got hurt after two terrific years in a big league pen. Yes the Jays didn't get any production in 2012, but they didn't just acquire him for 2012. Just looking at them as assets the Jays right now have the far more valuable piece.
2013
Santos getting injured was a blessing in duisgise (assuming he pithces to what is expected of him).
We know theoretically have 2 pitchers than will lock down the 8th and 9th inning.
Considering all the games we lost by having Cordero as the closer, it probably was a blessing in disguise. Our first pick is more than likely unprotected if he had pitched the whole season last year (uninjured)
But who is this other potential lock-down pitcher? Casey Janssen has been great for us but he is not a closer.
No AA only wants Miami's good players.
Janssen really hasn't had consistent time closing so it's hard to say how he would do but many including myself believe he is just better suited for a 7th or 8th inning role. Whenever he's closed for us, our team has sucked, so it's not like he's ever had to pitch in many tough situations.
The bullpen I really don't worry too much about anyways since they're so damn inconsistent. The Orioles 'amazing' pen could turn to complete garbage next year and it would surprise no one.
