No, it sure did not. But it did prove that he's able to just grin and bear it in order to make sure he and his family have a bright financial future, so I admire his willingness to endure foolishness for a greater cause.

I should go check his twitter... he was training for a triathlon through this season. I was interested to see how he did with that. I can't imagine driving 500-ish miles every weekend in extreme heat, and then going out and training for a tri between travelling and practices. This is part of what I love about him though. He'll race anything. Even if it means he has to swim, bike and run to do it!

Where do you keep them? My cousin is a mechanic, and has so many of 'em his wife is starting to threaten to get her own house cause the diecasts are taking over theirs. *laughing* But man, does he ever have some cool ones. I appreciate them 100% and think they're awesome.
But... I almost don't even want to get started, know whu'h mean, Vern?

Right now they are upstairs in my attic, I dont have a place to display them because I just got married last year and my wife and I are renting a small brick rancher until we can save up for a downpayment on a nice house. Once we do Ive already got ideas on different types of display cases to build. Hendrick Motorsports basically has a whole wall that is a display case for diecasts in their museum, which I will do something similar

Aw. In time, yes, you can have them out and enjoy 'em again!

My cousin built these beautiful plexiglass display cases for his, but...
like I said, pretty soon even the huge display case was full. There's
only so many displays you can make before there's a question about
getting rid of a chair here, a bed there, and kitchen counter over
    there. *laughing*

One thing I love though, about diecast collectors, is the love
of racing intertwined with the cars. I love how I can point to
a diecast I like, and my cousin will tell me where the race was,
who was in it, what drama took place, and who won. Going
back years and years and YEARS.

I have quite a few Mark Martin diecasts, both 1:24 and (mostly) 1:64 (fun to play with as a kid!). I have also started a fledgling Ricky Stenhouse 1:24 collection, but as a college student, funding is of course the major setback haha.

Hey! Time for you to find a #17 avatar, yeah?! I'm ready for NASCAR to start now! NOW!!!

    Speculation question:

If Dale Jr. doesn't do well this coming year, do you think he's
out of Hendrick? Do you think he's out of NASCAR as a driver,
as in, he would retire from racing and focus on being an owner?
Or dy'all think he'll just sit back and keep chipping away at it
like Kyle Petty did? If he DOES do well, aka better than this
past year, it's a moot point-- but it seems like he showed
flashes of old brilliance this year and then... nothing. I just
wonder how long it can go on before he himself and/or
    Hendrick have had enough.

Junior isn't going anywhere. He makes too much money for himself and Hendrick. Not to mention he made the Chase and performed relatively well last year.

Yeah, he did. And it was a relief to see. 'Will be interesting to see
if it can be replicated and built on. I guess I've been pretty shocked
by the bad years. It seemed like when he went to Hendrick, it would
just be... really more like what Jimmie has done. It was so nice
to see DJR win in Michigan. 'Made me realize just how dang long
it had been. No doubt it would be good for the sport if he
starts winning again. I always just kind of wonder in horror
though, "But what if he never does?" We shall see...

Nope, not leavin' the Commonwealth in February. 'You goin'?
