If he wants to hit free agency, there really isn't anything they can do, i mean if Pujols can abandon St.Louis, kershaw can leave LA.

I agree with everyone else here, Miami just wanted to shed some salary for Greinke. Makes too much sense. This way, he'll get to play in front of his family and friends...and nobody else.
