    Cubs at Marlins (4/25 - 4/28)

    ----
    6-14--------------------------------------------------5-16

    PROJECTED PITCHING MATCHUPS

    Thursday, April 25th, 6:10PM CT
    ..
    .......VS.......
    Edwin Jackson......................................Kevin Slowey

Edwin Jackson:Jackson is still looking for that first "W." The right-hander was charged with five runs in his last start against the Brewers, and four of those were unearned as the Cubs made three errors, including a throwing miscue by Jackson

Kevin Slowey:Slowey has allowed one earned run in three of his four starts this year, and he's still looking for his first win despite a 1.90 ERA

    Friday, April 26th, 6:10PM CT
    ..
    .......VS.......
    Scott Feldman.........................................Wade LeBlanc

Scott Feldman:The good news is Feldman did not have any back problems in his last start against the Brewers, which had been postponed because of some soreness. But his fielding error contributed to Milwaukee's win. He has yet to post a quality start.

Wade LeBlanc:In his last two starts, LeBlanc has allowed nine runs on 16 hits in just 7 2/3 innings. He has a 6.27 ERA and 16 strikeouts in four outings.

    Saturday, April 27th, 6:10PM CT
    ..
    *****COMCAST PLUS *****
    .......VS.......
    Travis Wood.........................................Alex Sanabia

Travis Wood:In his last start, Wood posted his third quality start, yet did not get a decision. He held the Reds to two hits over six scoreless innings, then served up a leadoff homer in the seventh. Wood is sticking to the game plan and much more effectively.

Alex Sanabia:For six innings, Sanabia was effective in his last start. But in the seventh, he loaded the bases with no outs, and all three runs scored in a 10-6 loss at the Reds. He has gone six innings in three of four starts.

    Sunday, April 28th, 12:10PM CT
    ..
    .......VS.......
    Carlos Villanueva.........................................Ricky Nolasco

Carlos Villanueva:Villanueva has been the Cubs' MVP of April. Projected to be a swingman, he has starred in the rotation, ranking among the NL leaders in ERA. Opponents are batting .167 against Villanueva, who adjusts his game plan according to the team he's facing.

Ricky Nolasco:Nolasco battled the elements and adversity in his previous start -- three runs (two earned) in five innings at Minnesota. On a 42-degree night, he overcame sloppy defense and conditions in collecting his first win.

To some, he was just a boy. A boy who played football, a football player that grew to be a man. A man that took over a city, a city that he made his own, a city that stands behind him in hopes of becoming one of that cities all-time greats. To some, 2013 was a fluke. To some, he can't do it again. To some, he got lucky.

To us though, to the Philly faithful, that QB is Nick Foles. To us, that's our QB.

Wouldn't be surprised to see us get swept.

We lose 3-4 or split. No way we win a series

We've got eight games coming up against teams that are honestly, legitimately worse than us. I'm allowing myself the fantasy that we go 6-2 or better and get back within spitting distance of .500. This team really isn't as bad as it has seemed.

I have a feeling that these teams will play no less than 39 innings and score no more than 36 runs in the series.

Looking at the Marlins lineup and there is no reason to throw Stanton a strike ever this year. Just put him on and take your chances with the rest of the team. I predict a career high in BB and career low in HR for him this year
