Do you think these stats are valuable and why or why not?

    RBI's
    Batting Average
    ERA
    W-L

RBI tell you nothing about a batter.

I place value on ERA and Batting Average, but I've heard enough about Wins, Saves and RBI's.

I put some value in BA, more so in ERA, but nothing in W-L and RBI.

Wins are only meaningful in conjunction with ERA, FIP, XFIP, and other stats that are indicative of how well a pitcher pitches.

Plenty of 4+ ERA and 4+ FIP (and XFIP) pitchers win 15+ games in a season (something they probably don't deserve to accomplish unless they are lucky in regards to run support)

RBIS don't mean much to me as it's a stat of opportunity.

BA is a decent stat, but OBP, BABIP, wOBA are better and more useful stats.

BA's a pretty important one. Some thing OBP is more important, but I somewhat disagree. No stat's supposed to be used in a standalone context, but I think BA and OBP definitely should always be used together. Tells you a ton about a player right there, much more than either on their own.

ERA also holds it's significance. Doesn't tell the whole story, just like every other stat, and has it's flaws, but it does measure production in the truest sense, and is typically a decent indicator of individual performance.

The others, meh. W-L record is what you go for, and it's nice in it's own way, but tells you next to nothing about the pitcher's individual performance. RBI sort of tells you about hitting in important situations, I guess, but it's probably the worst stat at doing that too. Again, measures production in the truest sense, but that's about it. Tells more about a player's teammates more often than not.

ERA yes, but not a ton. I still use it tho as run prevention is the name of the game. Always use FIP with it tho to kind of verify the ERA.

A little bit of value to average, but there are much better alternatives.

None whatsoever to W-L or RBI

As an individual stat. only BA and ERA matter out of those to me.
As a team stat. the only thing that matters is W-L.

So Phil Hughes was better than Felix Hernandez in 2010?
