You guys are missing the big picture. Regardless of what happens to Bynum they were ready to literally give Iggy away to clear cap. If there's a remote chance of getting Bynum on the court its still a win. Worse case scenario he's trade bait for a contender, still a win.....
This is what I have been saying... Contending teams can wait until he can get back on the court.
As a rookie Micheal Beasley averaged 13.9pts per game on .472 shooting. Do you know how many times Kobe Bryant or Tracy Mcgrady shot at that percent or better? Never in there whole careers. If Beas can be what he was when he was a rookie (he won't hell be better) then the heat are coming away with another steal.
Big man will be back by mid jan at the latest he said. not a big deal
It is a big deal. I know you're a Sixers fan, but you have to stop downplaying it as if it's nothing. We as Laker fans had to worry about his knees for yrs. And things are down spiraling for him health wise ever since he was traded to you guys.
no its still not a big deal. i didnt say its nothing
Well, I genuinely hope he does beast with you guys.
I remember when he was drafted in 05, and then about a month or two later, I met him at an Electronic store in Manhattan Beach when he was a young pup, I asked to take a pick with him, and he was really cool about it. I'll never forget it.
Here's to a healthy and speedy recovery to the big fella!
Again I would do the same deal today even with the Knee issues. We are a good young team and were stuck in limbo and I wanted Iggy gone forever. We will easily be able to keep our heads above water and play pretty well until January when he returns. Hopefully he gets healthy and dominates and we can give him that max contract he wants....I would be OK with that as well. Brand screwed up but again Bynum is worth the risk if he is healthy and when it comes to that and the free agent market and our team I think its a risk we have to take in order to be an actual championship contender. You can only build for so long and its time to take a chance...We built our team around him so its time to go all in.
I would do this deal 10 times out of 10 times and still hand him a max deal. I have 0 issues with ownership for making this trade. I criticize the sixers more than anyone and have hated moves we have made in the past and even argue for the overrating of some of our great players like Iverson. Call me a Homer if you want but 0 issues with this deal.
