    Phillies to sign Mike Adams

The Phillies have agreed to sign Mike Adams to a two-year contract worth $12MM with a third-year vesting option, reports Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports (on Twitter). Tyler Garrett of KRISTV first reported the deal. The right-hander is represented by Josh Yates at ACES. The deal is pending a physical.

Good pick up by the Phillies. Wondering how many former Rangers will be playing in the playoffs next year. The Phillies, Orioles, and Angels have quite a few good former Rangers on their teams.

Quest to watch a game in all 30 baseball stadiums, so far I have seen: Arizona, Atlanta, Baltimore, Boston, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Colorado, Detroit, Houston, Kansas City, LA Angels, LA Dodgers, Miami, NY Mets, NY Yankees, Philly, Pittsburgh, San Francisco, St. Louis, San Diego, Seattle, Tampa Bay, Texas, Toronto, Washington

More than current Rangers is my guess.

Who needs Josh Hamilton when you can have this for $11m?

This doesn't surprise anyone with the Soria signing. Adams had been pretty solid for a long time, and with Ogando in the rotation and Feliz out for most the season, it would have bee nice to have him back though.

I think the pen is pretty much set with Soria taking Adams spot as the 8th inning guy, Robbie Ross as the leftie specialist and the new guy from the Phillies taking on 7th inning duties. Tanner Scheppers is in the mix as well along with Michael Kirkman, who could be the long relief guy. I'm not nearly as concerned about the pen as I am about our 2-3rd starter spot and another OF/1B bat.

My only worry is if our rotation really flounders this year. Then, it'd be up to the bullpen to shoulder a lot of the load...and it's hard to count on a lot of young guys to take on that responsibility.

Not saying they can't, but without knowing WTF this team is doing this offseason, they'll have to either sign some rotation depth or go out and grab a couple veteran relievers.
