    Mets Sign Utility Player

    The Mets have signed The Mets have signed utility man Brian Bixler to a minor league contract with an invite to big league camp during spring training.

    Bixler, 30, hit .193 with two homers and seven RBIs in 88 at-bats last season. He also has appeared with the Pirates and Nationals.

    Dodgers had the all switch hitting infield.

    We can shoot for the all Mendoza outfield.

    Someone needs to tell the Mets that a .193 BA isn't the same as a 1.93 ERA.

    why not? They're both paid about the same.

    I think I stand a chance of making the parent club out of spring training. With Bay gone I could outhit this utility player and they certainly would get me for the league minimum. Heck its not like we're signing anyone with a future. I just want to make the team picture.

    This shouldn't even be it's own thread. Every team makes these kinds of moves. It's not like we wasted time and money bidding on him. Just filling out the AAA team.
