Personally, I'd do Arencibia and Rasmus for Dickey, though I really don't think the Mets would necessarily take that deal. I wouldn't give up D'Arnaud, Syndergaard, Sanchez or Gose for a 37 year old though.

Yeah, with the lineup we have, i would not mind letting Gose start in Centre and parting ways with Rasmus. What would be nice is if the jays signed Napoli as the DH/1B who can fill in for d'Arnaud every 3-4 games. Napoli's career wOBA of 370 is above average for a first basemen, great for a DH, and awesome for a catcher

I'd say chance chance of the Jays even making an attempt to sign Napoli is slim to none with so much money already tied up in C/DH/1B. I am not even convinced he'd be a good player to target even if they didn't have those conflicts.

I'm also pretty convinced that they're pretty much closing in on their payroll parameters and will only make another splashy move if they can move Lind or Buck to free up more money, and that'd be hard to do.

Unless Rasmus gets traded (and I believe he will), Gose will likely start the season AAA. Bautista will not be DH'ing either way.

I know we probably wouldnt, but i was thinking outloud. Berkman at DH makes a lot of sense as well, but as you just stated... We would have to get rid of Buck and or Lind probably for that to happen

Decent signing. I'm not a huge Cabrera fan but he's still a pretty good player, and a big name right now nonetheless.

Gregg Zaun isn't necessarily wrong. The fact is, Cabrera DID get busted and now he has an asterisk attached to his name. Many thought He'd get a 1-2 year deal worth $2-4M per year.

I'm still glad to see them spending it, because it's not my money and I care more about the seeing a player than seeing a bank account, but what Zaun said wasn't unreasonable.
