    2015 MLB Draft June 8-10

So the draft is just over 3 weeks away. The White Sox have the #8 pick.

Some names I have been seeing for the White Sox are

    Pitchers:
    Kyle Funkhouser RHP Louisville
Carson Fulmer RHP Vanderbilt (now speculation he could go #1 to ARZ)
    Walker Buehler RHP Vanderbilt
    Tyler Jay LHP Illinois

    Position Players:
Alex Bregman SS LSU (most likely won't get past BOS)
Daz Cameron OF High School (Mike Cameron's son)
Andrew Benintendi OF ARK (probably the biggest riser lately)

The guy who was supposed to be a target of the White Sox was SS Dansby Swanson of Vandy, but his stock has risen as others have struggled and been injured.

There is talent in this draft and I expect the Sox to look for another high upside quick moving SP out of college. Tyler Jay wouldn't surprise me. He has great mound presence with 3 quality pitches. Should move pretty quickly.

I am a fan of this draft strategy for the Sox. If Swanson was there I would say no doubt take him. The only position player I would consider that should be there is Benintendi, because he has a great makeup at the plate, but I just feel like you go for the SP that can move quickly and get up here.

My pick at the moment for the Sox is Kyle Funkhouser SP out of Louisville. He is a big strong righty at 6'3" 225 lbs with a great FB/SL combo with two other pitches that show flashes of plus pitches. He is from Oak Forest, IL so that is another plus for the Sox to get a local kid.

He has a 200+ inning type potential with a chance to be an ace quality pitcher.

For the Sox to have Sale, Quintana, Rodon, Montas, Danish, Adams, Fry and Funkhouser as quality SP prospects is a big positive.

Let me know who you want the White Sox to pick.

I really hope this doesn't end up being the highlight of the season. I still think we'll turn it around but man... another top 10 pick might be in our future.
Son, you just don't get it, i'm talking bout TWTW!

They are turning it around as we speak. Won 8 out of their last 11. If the season ended today, they would pick 14th.

You know, only the ace of the Sox. Chris Sale... lol

Fun fact: It has only happened 5 times.

Thanks Sager for starting this thread as I was about too as DaSox is slipping . LOL, J/K DaSox.

C or SS is our biggest need for the future with 3B as the 3rd.

Since I am a Curb fan, I'm going to go with Funkhouser.

I was thinking that happened- but I've never followed the mlb draft and wasn't entirely sure. Now that you say it it rings a bell.

It's only happened 5 times? Damn.

Funkhowser sounds good and of course catcher, third base and shortstop are positions that would be great to fill with young prospects.
And (if I can insert some levity here) how about Real Big Frank... that is Frank Kaminsky?
