Stoudemire & Shumpert comeback

This is not a post to bash Amare. I'm simply asking people ppl to post what they know about their return dates as it progress. As of right now do do either have a target date? Keep it going

Stat had a return date of 6-8 weeks from the time he had surgery. He should be coming back sometime in December. Shump has been out for 6 months now and they are talking about a December/January return for him. Cant wait for both of them to return.

I hope neither are rushed back. I would hope Amare comes back after a few weeks of practice and perhaps he can continue to work on his low post moves against Chandler and Wallace before coming back. Shumphert hope he comes back fully healthy in 2/13. Perhaps he can work on his jumper against the Brewer and SMith in practice. Practice can only make those two better in our new system.

I agree it will be tough to hold those 2 competitors back but they will both want to get back in as early as possible. I want them back as early as possible regardless of whatever our record is when the time gets closer. But their long term healthy for down the stretch and playoffs is most important.

I wouldnt rush either of them back. Once their healthy let them come back slowly, let them have a week's worth of full contact practices with the team and start them off with a few mins a game and slowly increase their minutes.

You dont want to throw players that are coming back with injuries right into the rotation. It will disrupt the whole chemistry of the team. I would even send Shumpert down to the D-League for a few games to get his timing back.

We should be ok for now, but I would think about adding Delonte West or Pietris.
Brewer's knees has started to swell, we cant afford to lose him especially with shumpert still out. Kid has been playing more minutes than he should because Prigioni hasnt been as effective as we thought. West can give you some point guard play off the bench, he's a good defender and can score, I'd give Prigioni's minutes to him.
Peitris can play the two or three, we can plug him in for Brewer if he cant go or he can take Novak's minutes if he continues to struggle. Doesnt hurt to have extra depth.

Stat was 6-8 weeks and he was first diagnosed at the very end of October. So I expect him to be back by Christmas.

Shumpert I expect him to be back by the end of January.

I could be in the minority here but the earlier Stat gets back in the mix the better. I have full faith in Woody to figure out whats going on with Melo and Stat. I'm sure he knows what the deal is. Nah, I rather continue to ride this wave and have a fully gelled team like how we are becoming now and then incorporate Stat into that system. I believe that Woodson already has a plan for Stat. There is a reason why he called on Hakeem to help him with Stat's post game.

Anyone else think Shump will play a lesser (Roockie type) role when he returns?
As amazing as the kid is on D, there is so much experience for him to compete with . Especially now that Jkid & Brew are playing the 2 so well. I could see him as a special assingment guard, like vs Spurs, he woulda been all over pesky Parker
