While i like Hultzen i would include him in a Justin Upton trade he isn't near Walkers talent in my opinion yea he may be a lefty but Walker has the complete package.
Don't get me wrong i think Hultzen is a blue chipper but i think Walker has more upside.
Why do people not care about the terrible road splits? I could see him coming here as hitting like he did last year forever. Is that worth our 2nd and 3rd specs?
yeah and who is to say Paxton doesnt end up in the BP and Franklin cant hit in the majors or even stick at SS
Upton is a lot more proven and is a MOTO bat. and we have Miller still anyway so we can trade Franklin and be ok
He is a proven MOTO bat in Chase. Below average on the road.
Playing in Arizona your stats are always going to be inflated but i would still trade for Justin Upton the dude has got talent anybodys production would drop off from playing away from Arizona or Colorado.
The Park you have to watch out for is Yankee Stadium Curtis Granderson HR numbers would go down if he didn't play at Yankee Stadium he would have a lot more fly ball outs there RF is a joke with that jet stream.
The only concern i would have with Justin Upton is his shoulder injury but it doesn't seem like it is effecting him.

But we don't need to trade for one who can't hit on the road and give up 2 of our top 4 specs.
You do if you don't have other options. From all accounts, Alex Gordon ain't going anywhere and there aren't any other players besides Gordon I'd rather have (that are rumored in trades.) Justin Upton is still a considerable upgrade to any OF the Mariners currently have. I'm all for other suggestions but there aren't much out there that are better that will cost anything less than one of the big three.
The problem with advanced stats is that some people rely too strongly on them. I'll be the first guy to defend advanced statistics but in a case like Upton (he's not even in his prime yet) I'll listen to the scouts and use the stats.
I really wish we could get some updated scouting reports on him.
I'll leave when I'm good and ready
Ian I've never asked you about your sig and avy. Where are they from?

You don't need advanced stats. Average and homers tell you he is pretty average on the road too.
Ah, I've definitely heard of it but I've never watched it.
JJ, chill he's 25. He has tons of time and room to improve.

I'm well aware. But it's also foolish to rely 100% on statistics as you're doing. The guy is not even in his prime years.
If a scout comes out and backs the statistics, I'd be concerned. But everyone STILL mentions how much of a freak athlete he is and how high his ceiling is despite his poor splits.
