He is not Ross but not a bad choice if they are not going to bring my boy Henry Blanco back

Good signing just hoping the money is about what Ross is making in a year for both years

he made $1 mil last season, i don't see him getting a 300% raise. that tiger fan who posted in here didn't make much sense to me. i thought laird did a commendable (not jaw-dropping, but solid) job filling in last year. .282 ba and .337 obp is not bad at all. if he didn't like him the year before when he was a card or the year before that, that's fine, but laird had a good year. and he was commended for his game-calling by his coaches as well (read the art. on the braves website), so i see nothing wrong with this signing.

Again, Laird is a solid back up. Hopefully he can hold the fort down till Mac is ready. I think this signing is good within the scope of what purpose it is serving. And I'm sure it isn't expensive.

BP had an interesting observation on Laird's shortened swing and increased contact in 2012, which led to his best year yet. Let's hope he continues the good work and understands that a 33 year old backup isn't expected to knock bombs but rather just not be a liability. They made me a little more optimistic about the signing but he's still a defensive liability and I've never really heard great praise about his pitcher handling.

Still, just glad we didn't dump money on a backup when we have much more pressing needs for our cash. Be thankful, we could be paying Dioner Navarro 1.75 million to do...?????

3.3 for two years isn't bad. It's definetly not 3 a year like the Sox are now paying Rossy.

Not bad, doubt we would of gotten him for less than a mil but I can live with it.

Everytime I hear his name I always see the word "lard". Great deal though.
