NBA News: Cavs waive Harangody, sign Kevin Jones: CARL THIS IS YOUR THREAD

The Cleveland Cavaliers have waived forward Luke Harangody and signed forward Kevin Jones to a contract.

The Cavs have assigned Jones to the Canton Charge, the Cavaliers exclusively owned and operated NBA Development League team, as one of their NBA roster players. Per league and team policy, terms of the contract were not announced though Jones was initially signed to a three-year, partially guaranteed contract that would have allegedly netted him $250,000 had he made the initial roster.

Harangody appeared in 42 games (one start) with the Cavs over two seasons and averaged 4.5 points and 3.5 rebounds in 15.0 minutes per game. Harangody did not appear in any games this season.

Jones, a 6-foot-8, 250-pound rookie forward from West Virginia University, has played in three games this season with the Charge and is averaging 27.0 points on .540 shooting and 13.7 rebounds in 41.3 minutes per game. He was one of three players on the Cavaliers training camp roster that were released and then designated for assignment to the Charge, playing under an NBADL contract.

LOL you should have read the comment I posted. He hasn't been called up yet but they gave him a NBA contract and not an NBADL contract where the can call him up whenever now.

Come on Arch we are clearly only two D-League studs away from playoff contention.

So we sign him to a NBA contract and he's still going to be playing in the D League. Awesome. Really can't hurt anything, it's not like Harangody was ever going to be anything for us.

Ya he sucks thats why Cavs management went crazy trying to get him signed after just 2 games into the D League season because the Spurs, Hawks, Blazers, and Pistons were showing intrest. Ya keep trying. This dude will out play THompson just like he did in the tourney...
