What do you guys think of adding Bourn? He would fit really nice in the 2 spot and his speed would be a nice addition. I personally would rather add Hunter of B.J. Upton, but Bourn could be a nice option if those guys go elsewhere.

Bourn would cost WAY too much...he's a fast runner that can play solid d, but what happens in 2 maybe even 3 years when he loses a step and doesn't cover the spacious outfield at Comerica as well and doesn't steal 30 bases anymore? he turns into an average OF with a crazy high price tag...what DD needs to do is sign BJ Upton and platoon Dirks and Garcia in LF, since they apparently don't feel dirks can play a whole season.
Jackson
Dirks/Garcia
Miggy
Prince
V-Mart
Upton
Peralta
Avila
Infante
Bourne on this team would be amazing.
Bourn wants like $15 million a year, and probably at least a 5 or 6 year deal.
BJ Upton would cost a first round draft pick
I'd prefer Hunter or Melky
AAT: Miguel Cabrera-BA: .386 Hr: 12 RBI: 49
I could see Hunter and Gomes coming to Detroit.

It would suprise me to see DD bring in a guy that can only hit lefties considering only like 20% of pitchers are southpaws, Gomes is also awful in the field. I'm not saying it's a bad idea by any means though, it would allow Garcia to stay down and play everyday, it would just suprise me that's all.
You can have BJ Upton. He'll K more than Jackson did last year. He showed a bit more power this year but in Comercia those would be long outs. In my opinion he is overrated. I would love Bourn . Not much power but a defensive specialist that gets on base. And steals bases. Unless we over pay he won't be a Tiger. Neither will Hunter.

Who do you think we'll sign then?
I don't want Bourn at all. Has speed, that's cool and defense (though it wouldn't be as valuable in left or right obviously) but the contract he's gonna want will be a bad one a few years down the road. He's 29 years old so his most valuable asset is going to start declining in a few seasons.
well why don't we just have kate upton in the outfield? lets give that upton a try
I'm for that. I would love to watch her running after a fly ball.
Honestly I don't think we sign one of the big names on the board. Bourn is probably one of the youngest.Giving somebody like Swisher or Victorino more than 3 years would be a mistake.
I think we test the waters but with players like Dirks and Sanchez already in house we try to find somebody as a solid back that can replace either player should they pull a Boesch. I think we will try to sure up the bullpen and starting pitching. With VMart coming back it will be like we signed one major FA.
I'll also be surprised if we trade for Justin Upton. I think we saves the trading chips for somebody else down the road.We may get lucky and beable to upgrade at shortstop later. But for now we have a viable option at a reasonable price.

I bet Torii ends up in the D, with something like 2 years ~10 per, with a vesting third year if he does x, y, and/or z.

CFB(Div II): Hillsdale
I don't think they'll trade for Upton, especially with so many cheaper options out there (hunter, melky, BJ, etc.) and having garcia almost ready for the big leagues...i wouldn't mind seeing Hunter in the Old English D, certainly had enough of him robbing us with his glove, would be nice having that D in our OF...i don't see them signing a pitcher, they will either stick with Smyly/Porcello as 4/5 or trade for good #4
