Maybe 1 year - 7 million, to let him walk the next year and get the draft pick we would surrender this year for him.
I'm not really a fan of Hamilton's, and I don't trust his body to age well, and he has giant flaws in his game that can easily be exposed and he didn't show he could make the proper adjustments last year after May. Like chasing outside fastballs
As a Ms fan, we need a MOTO bat and RF as bad as anyone.
id give him 5/yrs 130mil and not bat an eye.
assuming that doesnt get it done, id go as high as 6/150 mil, an incentivized option for a 7th yr, any more than this is too much for my blood.
Im a believer in hamilton. he was healthy last year, since his suspensions hamiltons slips in sobriety have not affected his performance/team (very minor and self caught).
When you can have a guy out of baseball for 3 years and comes back and plays at a HOF level the ceiling is still very high, its not like last year he had a drop off.
i dont see serious flaws in his game, definitely his psyche, hes fragile and needs to be cottled, he let things get to him mentally that affected his 2nd half, but when he is in a good place spiritually/emotionally he is a top 5 offensive performer in the game right now easily.
Ms can afford the risk, our young players need a presence like him. He may have no interest in coming to Seattle tho.
