Amare won't be coming off the bench.

The line-up with be: Chandler, Amare, Melo, Shump, Felton when everyone is healthy.

Then you got Brewer, Smith, Kidd, and Sheed to make a nice 9 man rotation. Novak and Camby should be mixed in as well. I love how deep this team is, we have shown we can deal with injuries and we'll be fresh come playoffs.

So is paying $125 million USD for Brook Lopez and his 6 rebounds, Kris Humphries and his extremely limited skills, and Gerald Wallace and his rapidly declining play and non stop injuries.

Oh yea on top of paying $75 mill for 3 years of a washed up glorified role player in Joe Johnson.

    Smart spending.

I respectfully disagree with anybody who automatically thinks doom when STAT comes back.

Top differences between last year's BIG 3 versus this year's (potential) BIG 3:

    1) A lighter, more in-shape Melo coming off an ego-boosting Olympic performance.

    2) 1st and 2nd team PGs looking to pass first. And to another level, the eager 2nd "hockey" pass regularly being made by JKidd, JR and even Melo.

    3) Wing gaurds capable enough to keep defenses from sagging inward. JR has elevated his game (from last year) and JKidd is hitting clutch 3s.

Spacing may always be an issue with this group -- however assuming a similar STAT from last year (17/7), if you insert the above new variables and enough time for chemistry, AND put Shump back at SG, you have enough defense around Amar'e to cancel that side of his game. Now, if he adds his promised post game and return of his leethal elbow jumper, then we have the potential of GREATNESS!!!!

Amare will start and I hope Woodson has it all planned out, stat was poor last season but with a lockout, family death and injuries who can blame him. Hoping he comes back bigger and stronger!
