Amare Stoudemire coming off the bench...

just interested as to what the general perception is regarding amare coming off the bench when he comes back...do you think this team is better with amare coming off the bench and do you think he'd be even willing to consider it?

I think this team would be much better if Amare came off the bench as the backup center. Put Felton and Amare on the second unit... the other teams will be facing a playoff team against their second unit and they will have to put back their starters. It would be a great two team 1-2 punch in my opinion.

I think to be the best team we can be Melo, Amar'e and Chandler all need to be able to play together. The two distinct 5 man rotations doesn't fly in the playoffs and it isn't to our benefit. It is a cheap easy way out and I really don't think it is any kind of answer. Regardless of starting it is the team that plays in crunch time that is the most important and that will include Amar'e. This is not D'Antoni's offense anymore where the 4 is told to stand in the corner at the three point line. We are running a more traditional offense and he should be able to help Melo. The spacing and flow in this offense is completely different and we need to utilize our size with Melo, Amar'e, and Chandler. There will be plenty of time when Amar'e is on with the 2nd unit (he should be the first out and back in to start the 2nd when Melo sits). We are getting killed on the boards and while Melo is a good rebounding 3 he is poor at the 4, Amar'e isn't a great rebounder, and Chandler isn't a great defensive rebounder - with all three though we are better off on the boards. I fully expect him to start and I think to be the best team we can they can't avoid this and need to make it work.

He has to come off the bench. Hes going to replace Wallace,Camby and KT as the first big off the bench. Its his job to keep them there. Remember.....those guys are here for productive spot mins. They are buying time for Amar'e to get his ailing *** back on the court.

Amar'e blew his starting job when he missed Melo chemistry camp.

Amare needs to just Retire to be honest. He'd be more beneficial as a sideline coach motivating the players. Knicks should not want to have amare play again as a starter or off the bench.

umm, all I've seen when amare starts is poor defense and bad floor spacing with him and chandler. he makes chandler worse on offense when he's out there. also our best player melo seems to never play well at the 3 spot with amare on floor. so why on earth would you or anyone want to see amare in the starting lineup ever again? I just don't get what games yall have been watching past 2 years.smh amare is a dantoni system player with zero defense or rebounding. lets send him to lakers for gasol and be done with him

i wouldn't mind amare off the bench, but im not a fan of mello playing defense on PF's in this league... yes, i think amare would accept a role coming off the bench, but i think we would be a better team with a traditional starting 5. maybe amare can come off the bench if the opposing team has a hybrid 4. another reason to start him is because we cant afford to have him and novak on the floor together, that would result in poorest D#...!!!

....Umm ....no we have not been down this road before We have never had this type of veteran leadership and talent around Melo and Amare so maybe people should just sit back STFU and enjoy the ride ....wait til he comes back before saying it could not work.

Last year it was Melo who people said was the problem...this year Amare(who has not played 1 minute of the season)....always have to blame someone...we are 5-0 !!! why can't people just enjoy it and worry about things when they come up???

sheed has been terrible on D, prigioni is a pesky defender, but not a very good defender overall & novak has worked on his D, but his lack of athleticism makes him a poor defender as well. WE CANNOT have all of these weak defenders on the court at the same time...
