    Knicks Assign Stoudemire to D-League

    http://hangtime.blogs.nba.com/2012/1...e-to-d-league/

Not much detail, but he's just practising with d-league team.

I actually like this move for the Knicks, and it will benefit Amare. It's a great way to ease him back into the swing of things in regards to getting back b-ball shape. Obviously the games are different from practices, let alone d-league ones, but this can only help him.

Assign is a little misleading cause it's just practice but I wonder why he can't just practice with the team if he's testing out his knee. They do have the day off today.

They talked about this last night. The D-League team has 3 full practices this week while the Knicks have I believe 1 or 2 half practices. The goal is to get him as much practice reps as possible this week and then get him playing friday

He isn't really assigned to the D-League... just practicing with them while the Knicks are resting... very misleading title (not on the OP's part, but on Sekou Smith's part).

He’s one of those players, one of the few players who can do that.”

Amar'e Stoudemire, on a possible sixth-man role: "Whatever it takes to win." Says that decision is up to Woodson/coaching staff.

Stoudemire also said he's not concerned about his role, starter or sixth man. All he cares about is winning.
