    No Kershaw in there?

WAR and a lot of the advanced metrics favor Kershaw.

I am surprised he isn't on the bill.

I'm sure if I went to an actual Vegas bookie site there would be more candidates and perhaps slightly different Odds as well, I guess the person who wrote the article went with just a few of the choices for impacts sake.

What is 4/5 odds compared to 5/4 odds? Generally we hear a bigger number first, then a smaller number (ie:10/1 20/1 30/4) never 4/5.

That's why the mob is smart, get all the suckers to vote for Dickey thinking it's a sure thing meanwhile the mob will have the inside dope on where the voters are going which in the sabermetrics era will be Kershaw.

That's why he will win because the mob's money is on him so they don't want to list his odds.

It's odds on, not odds against. Prices like these are very common actually virtually ever football will feature one team who is odds on, for instance NO @ 4/6 to beat Oak.

    Kershaw? Really?
Sandy Alderson says Mets' 2014 payroll will be more than $87 million

I know you probably didn't mean "suckers to vote"...and likely meant "suckers to bet". The way you wrote this, if the purpose of Vegas was to get voters to vote for Dickey...then Dickey would win right?

Anyway...so the Mob lost then eh?

Sabermetrics are a virtually new-ish form of measurement, considering most voters are old school (who hate Sabermetrics). Now give another decade and most of the voters will be using Sabermetrics for everything.

It's the circle of life. Eventually there will be a new-new system for measuring players that will replace Sabermetrics. And those who like Sabermetrics will complain just as hard as the "old schoolers" do today.

    Go Dickey! Go Mets!
