Where are Amar'e and Shumpert's minutes going to come from?

I'm just thinking about when Amar'e and Shump come back, and honestly I have no clue where their minutes are going to come from. Let's say between them Amar'e and Shump are worth 48 minutes, or 1/5th of the total court time. Where do we take those minutes? Tyson and Carmelo are obviously untouchable. In the backcourt, JR, Prigioni, Felton and Kidd are all already splitting the minutes amongst each other, and in the front court assuming Chandler and Melo's minutes don't change it'll be hard to create minutes for Amar'e even if you take them away from Rasheed, Novak, Camby and Kurt. So how do you think it's going to work?

Nobody to blame but some of our fellow Knick fans chanting his name and starting a big ovation whenever he scores. Hopefully, they chill with that now.

I think I have some tmobile minutes left. Slump can use them but amare can't. Why throw cash down the drain ?

This is the correct answer. Priggie Smalls will hit the bench and so will sheed. They'll only play if there is foul trouble/injuries. Brewer will continue to get minutes either way.

only thing is so far early in the season woody seems to favor sheed over camby, i know camby's been out, we'll see if that changes or not. i like sheed and amare playing with each other in the second unit, and i think sheed is a better passer out of the post, which will only benefit guys like JR and Novak out on the perimeter.

Shump will Find minutes easy because he, brewer and kidd are all versatile on who they can defend.

Amare on the other hand will be lucky to find 25 minutes IMO. He has no place on the team, I just don't see a lineup where his talents exceed and his weaknesses don't get exposed.

Playing center w sheed or Thomas at the 4 is probably amares only shot.

Completely disagree, thats basically saying a player won't play if he plays poor defense?

Amare is GREAT at the 5, that right there should get him 15-20mpg backing up Chandler. Then he can backup Melo at the 4 for another 10-15mpg. And at times we'll see all 3 on the court at the same time.

Most scoring PF's in this league are poor defenders, that doesn't mean they don't have value. We need to score, JR isn't going to keep shooting 72% from 3 all year... we need scorers.
