OT: Jose Reyes Traded to the Blue Jays

As I read this thread I saw at least 2 posters say "at least we are guaranteed 4th place now..." or something along those lines...I respectfully submit that we are the METS and NOTHING is ever guaranteed with this franchise.

Now as for this trade...wow but who didn't see it coming? This is Marlin's M.O. every 7-10 years they try to put together a team to win a world series with NO plan to defend it afterwards, this time they couldn't even hold the line for a half season before the fire sale began, the team had high priced talent, but no chemistry.

As for Mike errr I mean Giancarlo Stanton or whatever he wants to be called...I'm sure he'll catch flack for posting on twitter, I doubt he will be traded this offseason but he might "sulk" just enough to get traded in july 2013,

On the plus side we Mets fans can rejoice that there is INDEED an owner and F/O more inept than ours!

It's hard not to see us guaranteed at least 4th place.

The Marlins have maybe now the worst roster in the major leagues besides the Astros.

Why would any other free agent ever want to sign for that team if they will likely be traded after 1 year?

What Loria and MLB have done to that city and tax payers is an outrage.

It's just sad that the Marlins dismantled again (which they have a history of doing) and Reyes signed there for no reason.

We could have possibly brought him back if they had gone in there and jumped the bid.

And for what?

To trade him after a year.

That for lack of better terminology, just sucks.

It's the way the Marlins do business. I knew Reyes would be traded after this season if the team laid an egg. The Marlins structured his contract like that. They did the same thing with Carlos Delgado.

I'm fairly sure players know when they sign as free agents with the Marlins to not be too quick to put a down payment on a house in South Florida.

If I was a resident of the Miami-Dade area or a member of the city council that allocated public funds to that new stadium I would be furious.

Yeah but what's their goal here? The Marlins could have gotten rid of those players and still have gotten a better package I think. This just annihilates the Marlins.
