Now as for this trade...wow but who didn't see it coming? This is Marlin's M.O. every 7-10 years they try to put together a team to win a world series with NO plan to defend it afterwards, this time they couldn't even hold the line for a half season before the fire sale began, the team had high priced talent, but no chemistry.

As for Mike errr I mean Giancarlo Stanton or whatever he wants to be called...I'm sure he'll catch flack for posting on twitter, I doubt he will be traded this offseason but he might "sulk" just enough to get traded in july 2013,

On the plus side we Mets fans can rejoice that there is INDEED an owner and F/O more inept than ours!
It's hard not to see us guaranteed at least 4th place.

The Marlins have maybe now the worst roster in the major leagues besides the Astros.

    Marlins rotation

    1. Turner
    2. Nolasco
    3. Eovaldi
    4. ****
    5. ****

    lineup

    1. Escobar SS
    2. **** 2B
    3. Stanton RF
    4. **** 1B
    5. **** LF
    6. **** CF
    7. **** 3B
    8. **** C

That's how many wholes the Marlins have on their roster to this point.

Uh, the money? Was that a trick question?

Reyes didnt sign with the Marlins because he was in love with Miami. He signed because they offered him a hell of a lot more than what the Mets did.

It's just sad that the Marlins dismantled again (which they have a history of doing) and Reyes signed there for no reason.

We could have possibly brought him back if they had gone in there and jumped the bid.

    And for what?

To trade him after a year.

That for lack of better terminology, just sucks.

Yeah, if they offer a lot more than other teams, a player is still likely to sign there, but am sure they will demand a NTC from now on.

    Blue Jays get:
    Jose Reyes
    Josh Johnson
    Mark Buherle
    Emilo Bonifacio
    John Buck
    4 million dollars

    Marlins get:
    Henderson Alvarez
    Yunel Escobar
    Adeiny Hechavarria
    Justin Niciolino
    Jake Marnisnick
    Anthony DeSclafani
    Jeff Mathis

I was reading that in the MLB forum.

The only 2 major major leaguers the Marlins get in the deal are Mathis and Escobar..

It's the way the Marlins do business. I knew Reyes would be traded after this season if the team laid an egg. The Marlins structured his contract like that. They did the same thing with Carlos Delgado.

I'm fairly sure players know when they sign as free agents with the Marlins to not be too quick to put a down payment on a house in South Florida.

It's amazing, the Blue Jays stole those players from the Marlins.

They didn't even need to part with Sanchez, Osuna, Syndergaard, Strolman, Norris, D'Arnaud etc etc.

    That's un****ing real!!

If I was a resident of the Miami-Dade area or a member of the city council that allocated public funds to that new stadium I would be furious.

This is pathetic, but at least the Marlins are in our division.

Yeah but what's their goal here? The Marlins could have gotten rid of those players and still have gotten a better package I think. This just annihilates the Marlins.
