Somebody will want Dickey, we saw 12+ teams were interested.

I just really liked the specs Toronto had to offer. It's just off to another team if they do deal him.

I don't like the fact that the Marlins are rebuilding because it looks like them and the Astros are going to be competing for worst team in the majors next year giving them possibly a #1 pick.

They are stockpiling again and they have a very good history of stockpiling talent and competing shortly there after.

Was just about to comment on this. Stanton has been tweeted about how pissed he is. If he demands a trade, maybe the Mets could put together a really nice package for him.

Stanton doesn't have a lot of leverage and he is only making 480k next year.

The Marlins only made that move to clear considerable payroll.

I wouldn't expect Stanton to be dealt until he is closer to FA in 2017.

I am just happy we don't have to face him 18 times a year anymore.

All it does though is essentially guarantee us 4th place.

What i don't like is all the prospects the Marlins are getting to turn it around, not to mention they will compete for the number #1 overall pick next year.

They could end up stockpiling quickly and competing before we do sadly .

I understand why the Marlins made the move, and the lack of leverage Stanton has, but it wouldn't be the first time a player like that was traded.

True, but he is only 23 years old and his most attractive attribute to the Marlins is he makes next to nothing.

I mean the kid might have the most power in the majors right now. As bad as the Marlin's franchise is, i don't see them moving Giancarlo.

That sad thing is that the Mets were outbid by that ****** franchise. At least it was not to the Yankees.

It's as if the baseball gods broke out their X Boxes and are playing MLB 2K12.

Why would any other free agent ever want to sign for that team if they will likely be traded after 1 year?

What Loria and MLB have done to that city and tax payers is an outrage.

Yep, it's amazing 2 of the worst big market franchises are in the same division

Imagine if Pujols had signed there too?

As I read this thread I saw at least 2 posters say "at least we are guaranteed 4th place now..." or something along those lines...I respectfully submit that we are the METS and NOTHING is ever guaranteed with this franchise.

Now as for this trade...wow but who didn't see it coming? This is Marlin's M.O. every 7-10 years they try to put together a team to win a world series with NO plan to defend it afterwards, this time they couldn't even hold the line for a half season before the fire sale began, the team had high priced talent, but no chemistry.

As for Mike errr I mean Giancarlo Stanton or whatever he wants to be called...I'm sure he'll catch flack for posting on twitter, I doubt he will be traded this offseason but he might "sulk" just enough to get traded in july 2013,

On the plus side we Mets fans can rejoice that there is INDEED an owner and F/O more inept than ours!
