They are afriad of when Kobe leaves in less than 2 years Phil will leave once again and these good coaches will be gone. Nash still will be playing and they want a good coach to work with him and Dwight.

The new era begins here...bring it home Deron bring that trophy home

It's really not the worst fit...

Has a great relationship with Nash who when healthy will be a nasty P&R combo with Dwight, Kobe respects him, etc. I mean, if the Lakers weren't hiring Phil, I'd say D'Antoni was the next best option

I see what webber is saying but he dont get jerry point of view. Jerry never like the triangle and was not feeling Princeton either. He like the run and gun style that is more entertaining but they won with the triangle until it ran its course. When Phil left Lakers were not very good either. They were bad on defense played like crap most of the season and got the broom in the playoffs. To be honest if lakers were going to hire Shaw then it was best they kept Brown and tell him to drop the princeton.

**** the run ad gun style, With Phil that was a for sure championship, now it just makes them 1 of 4 front runners.

This may sound crazy but i dont think Phil was the answer. If they had more time yes but he is coming in with another complex system where nash and Howard never played.

He compared player getting tickets to Dantoni quitting on NY? I don't even know if Dantoni quit, his gameplan just didn't deliver.

lakers will be fine and they will shock the west. until nash. kb and d12 is around they will make it happen. people who belittle dan will all be wrong to judge the book by its cover.

phil days a done, dude hardly coached his last season with the lakers. IMO i dont think Lakers wanted phil. They interview him out of respect. Even mini dump the triangle. Players dont like it and for sure Nash would not have made sense in it.
