Yes but he's always been a bench player in his career and if you look at his seasons in 2010 and 2011 he was awful.

He only got the playing time he did last year out of attrition.

He'll mash lefties but i doubt he'll repeat the career season he had last year. The .302 career OBP is awful too.

And Citi Field has had a better HR park factor than Wrigley the last 2 seasons. It's not the Grand Canyon people make it out to be.

Regardless of if EJax is a Cub or not, I'm not sure about this. Marcum has seen dips in his velocity and that doesn't bode well for him.

Pitching in Citi Field does though.

He was effective in 2010 and 2011 with similar pitch velocity so i don't think that will be an issue.

His velocity dropped after the elbow injury last year which led to the 86.3 MPH average on his fastball but that was only .5 mph slower than it was in 2010 and 2011 and velocity has never been a big part of Marcum's game anyway.

Getting out of Miller Park will help him tremendously. I just wanna see if he can be healthy for a prolonged period of time. That's why he only got a one year deal.

They need a second basemen really badly, and he ha great upside.

With he at second, and Escobar at short, that leaves Zobrist to play super utility for days off for guys (or if someone starts to suck)

Joyce will still start a lot in right, so Zobrist is everybody's back-up, will DH, will allow others to DH if necessary, and spell injuries and days off.

Everybody tries to get 600 PA.

I like it (depending on how much it is of course).

And Johnson has the talent. But it needs to be put together. A lot like Escobar.
