Ill always love D Train though

Someone in the Cubs forum actually suggested trading Marmol and instead of letting Fujikawa be the closer, DTrain should get the job.

    Marcus Thames retires.

Man I loved getting him in sims and using him as a lefty masher in a platoon.

He always struck out too much to ever carry any real value, but he would give you some spurts of nice value as a platoon player who only played 30% of the time.

Bye Thames, for me, you will be more remembered for my use of you in video games.

He was definately a nice guy to have on the bench to use in short spurts. Anytime he got any extended PT, his many holes were exposed. He was killed by the fact that when he was cold, he was completely useless as he was slow, didn't take walks, and was poor in the field.

Still had some useful seasons for the Tigers.

    Blue Jays Sign Henry Blanco

I was absolutely shocked that a thread wasnt made for this. It actually happened a few weeks ago but it got no attention. He's only 41.

Wow! What an off season for Toronto!

Josh Johnson, Jose Reyes, RA Dickey, Melky Cabrera, Mark Buerhle, & Henry Blanco

Is Hank the new Julio Franco??

I can't believe he fell to the Cubs for that little.

Cards needed him, Mets needed him, Yankees needed him, Giants needed him.

So many good teams needed him, and he signed for so little and he is still likely to be platooning in Chicago. Doesn't make much sense.

That's why the Mets didn't want him because he is a platoon player at best and the Mets need to try out the younger guys as they rebuild.

I seriously doubt he'll repeat the season he had last year.
