I was going to make a new thread on Schierholtz, but in checking here I guess it is a minor signing.
I really like this. in todays game where free agents get more money than they deserve, this guy signs for $2.25 million. might be funny that he signs with the Cubs, and not with the Yankees who were also apparently interested in him. the Yankees couldn't beat $2.25 million?
Schierholtz is likely better used in a platoon, not facing LH pitchers.
2012 vs LH- .175/.206/.238/.444
2012 vs RH- .287/.360/.466/.826
2011 vs LH- .234/.265/.297/.562
2011 vs RH- .288/.340/.461/.801
with the money Soriano makes, I imagine they wouldn't platoon him. although platooning Soriano with Schierholtz together could give nice production duo.
