Thats a whole lotta moving parts lol. He was with the twins and angels a few years ago.
It's worth the gamble for cheap. Having Brian Price work with him during Spring trainning may help him.

Marlins sign former Met John Maine to minor league deal
http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/ml...or-league-deal
I really thought he and Oliver Perez would be great in the Mets rotation for years and years to come. Boy, that did NOT happen. The Miami Marlins have signed right-handed pitcher John Maine to a minor-league deal with an invitation to spring training, according to MLB.com's Joe Frisaro. CBSSports.com's Jon Heyman has confirmed the signing.
The 31-year-old Maine last pitched in the major leagues in 2010 and has a career 41-36 record, 4.35 ERA, 1.34 WHIP, 7.6 K/9 rate and 4.1 BB/9 rate.
Maine pitched for the Yankees' Triple-A affiliate in 2012, going 8-5 with a 4.97 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 66 strikeouts in 79 2/3 innings over 16 appearances (15 starts).
Yep.
I actually saw him play a few years ago with a 5'3 third basemen (Chris Cates http://www.baseball-reference.com/mi...d=cates-001chr)
They stood on the mound a few times next to each other. It was like seeing Muggsy Bogues and Vlade Divac together
He was a decent prospect at one point for the Twins, decent shot at making a bullpen still at some point.
I think this probably ranks as "minor": Matt Diaz to the Yankees.

IDK why, but I seem to like all these little deals- great potential to get bang for buck.
Kazmir, wow, I thought he was going to be a stud! Did he have an arm issue? Must have, when he was young he was electric
When he was younger he had a riding fastball and a slider that was just devastating.. The wear and tear on his arm took away his slider. Without it, he was an average hit me hard low 90's fastball throwing Batting Practice Pitcher. The time off has supposed to have fixed what ails him..his FB is back up to the 92-94 mph range and his slider has some of that devastating bite back. It remains to be seen if he can endure an entire season... or even just spring training at this point..
Mets Sign Aaron Laffey
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/The Mets announced that they have signed left-hander Aaron Laffey to a minor league contract with an invite to major league spring training.
http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2012/1...edium=facebookThe Cubs have agreed to sign Hisanori Takahashi to a minor league contract with an invitation to Spring Training, reports Jeff Passan of Yahoo! Sports (on Twitter). The veteran left-hander is a Wasserman Media Group client.
Takahashi, 37, pitched to a 5.54 ERA with 9.3 K/9 and 2.5 BB/9 in 50 1/3 relief innings for the Angels and Pirates last season. He owns a 3.97 ERA in 240 1/3 MLB innings, making 12 starts and 153 relief appearances. Takahashi has held big league lefties to a .238/.283/.381 batting line with a 4.14 K/BB

Takahashi was very good with the Mets a few years back. It's always good to have left handed pitching depth.
May God have mercy on them.Hearing #Royals have agreed to $1.1M deal with SS Miguel Tejada. The 38-year-old hit .239 for Giants last season.
