Dodgers have done again, they made a bigger splash today.
Former Met Nick Evans, popular with fans during parts of four seasons spent in New York, has signed a minor league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, his agent, Marc Agar, told the Daily News. The deal includes an invitation to major league camp as a first baseman and third baseman.
Evans, 26, left the Mets to sign with Pittsburgh last year, but played in just 21 minor league games after suffering a broken hand. Evans is expected to be fully healed in time for spring training.

Report: Wogan out with Mets
Adam Wogan, who oversaw the minor league system under Omar Minaya and then Sandy Alderson, will not have his contract renewed, according to the Daily News. Wogan was bumped up to a front-office role this past season, with Jon Miller taking over Wogan's former minor league role.
What's funny about it is that they just keep looking to trade players, and in this case, one they didn't even acquire yet. I'd honestly just give up if I were a Miami fan.

OT - It's been a couple of weeks but I just saw that the SWB Yankees (AAA) were renamed to the SWB RailRiders.
I get it that it is a nod to NEPA and their railroad. But I have to admit, when I saw it for the first time...I giggled. Many Minor League names make me giggle. This one just takes the cake for me.
Add Wanel Mesa to the group, Sick.
Nevermind, I see that you're alreayd aware. lolAccording to Baseball America, the Mets have signed RHP Wanel Mesa to a Minor League contract.
Mesa has pitched in the Independent League since 2011 and most recently appeared with the Bridgeport Bluefish, making three appearances and one start and allowing seven earned runs in 6 2/3 innings last season.
He spent 2006-2010 in the Nationals organization, last appearing for Single-A Hagerstown in the South Atlantic League in 2010. He went 2-4 with a 7.00 ERA in 38 relief appearances that season, and is 9-15 with a 5.95 ERA in seven professional seasons.
I believe it's an anagram for Mensa Wale, but I'm just not sure what it really means.
Scarecrow: I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy: How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
