This is a pretty tough one. I think a legitimate argument can be made for Dirk, but I'll still take Dwyane Wade. The performance he put up against the Dallas Mavericks in 2006 was like nothing I've ever seen before.

D-Wade. It took 10 years for Dirk to rid himself of being soft.

This is very close, going to go with Dirk as of now.

its fairly close but its gotta be wade. 2 rings and 1 absolutely ridiculous finals performance to get finals mvp against dirk. even when dirk got his finals mvp vs miami, wade was the series scoring leader slightly ahead of dirk. and that 08-09 season was unreal. also wade is the best shotblocking guard of all time right now. that could change as he ages and his blocks average potentially drops but the question says so far. when i think of dirk i think scorer, when i think of wade i think all around player.

Career? I'd take Dirk with Wade having a chance to catch up. He's just been great longer. 2 more All Star appearances than Wade has seasons in the league, and the overall statistical edge through their prime.

It will be a good discussion in 5 years though.

    Dirk . . . At this point I think it's obvious.

In 5 years however it might be a better argument

Dirk, Wade's decline is going to be a ugly one.

I'm gonna say Dirk. Wade did win one more ring but he also had Shaq and LeBron to help, Dirk did it by almost only himself IMO. Although Wade was amazing in that finals and the 08-09 season was indeed unreal, Dirk has that MVP to back him up. But it's close

Dirk is a top 25 player in NBA history. Please stop trolling JB.

You can make a decent argument that Wade is a top 25 player as well.
