Shumpert is our best value player per dollar, IMO Brewer is a close second. I think we overpaid for Novak in much of the same way as fans expected us to for Lin. I think his contract is a bit inflated for his game, but he's getting paid because he's a fan favorite. (Even though we really need his 3pt shooting) Novak and Amare are my top 2 worst value guys. If it wasn't for that, I feel we would've gone after a R. Lewis/R. Allen type of guy. I can't criticize any of these contracts too much, because we were still able to net tons of depth this season, while keeping all my favorite guys.

We all know who the worst is..........

Yeah, Jr smith is the best contract the knicks have, period. We like Shumps, and we like kidd or whoever else some of you guys picked for whatever reason(escapes me).

Lets be clear thought, Swish is arguably out performing Melo right now, just stop it. End of story, hopefully Kain get's on track.

Well....at this point..it has become quite obvious that Camby is the worst contract on the team For what ever reason Woodson does not see him fitting in at right now:

Woodson says Marcus hasn't had a full practice lately but it's not his conditioning, he's not getting min due to "way I'm seeing the game."

He is the fourth highest contract on the Knicks this season..and has played a whopping 12 minutes( he has not been injured said he was ready to go for Miami game). ... so there is no doubt(to this point) that this is the worst contract:cry:

I think Camby will be a key contributor for us when its all said and done.

I was a bit surprised to see Woodson leaving Melo to guard Gasol like that all game. I get that he didn't want to tinker with the starting lineup, but it was clear early on that Gasol was just abusing Melo and Woodson did nothing.

Melo is our star, and Woodson needs to protect him, Melo has already made several comments about getting banged up by the bigger 4's. Its not fair to ask a SF to guard guys like Zbo & Gasol who is a legit 7'1 280 every game.

I agree... I am just whining about it.. can't understand it

Feel like he could be a huge help on the boards now...I know we are winning but..why not look to improve on things we are failing at(rebounding)

Camby is a former DPOY i think he could help!!

Novak is the worst: only thing he can do is make 3's, is that really worth 4 million/year. Smith, as many have said, is clearly the best.

Novak's salary never touches 4mill yearly.

His annual payments are in the $3m-$4m range.

When people like Korver are making $5M annually for 3 years, I think a contract in the $3m-$4m range is fair for someone like Novak, although I'd much prefer 3 years $15M for Novak then 4 years $15M. We have $0 commited in our fourth years because Tyson/Amare/Carmelo all EXPIRE in 3 years. $3M is commited to Novak, $4M is commited to Felton in the 4th year's its stupid... if It was HOUSTON's GM (Not a jab at Glen), he would have secured a team option the fourth year for both Felton/Novak.

Houston's GM always convinces players to sign team friendly contracts, players whose skill level are comparable to ours.

I have yet to see Glen give out a team option on ANY of his long term contracts, other than that one un-guaranteed contract given to that retired guy so his contract can be used as a Trade chip in S&T's later. (I think his name was Dan Gaz. something).

It sort of makes sense. We don't need to reup Ray to a more lucrative deal until we use our cap space the year before he expires. Once we use our cap space to resign Melo, add some pieces, we will in all likelihood be over the cap again, than the next year we can go over the cap to resign Ray (probably to expire with the rest of our signees this time). If he expired the same time, we would likely have to re-up with him using our available cap space for 5-6 mill or so. I guess we are sort of saving about 2 mill of cap for that Free Agency period. I see Ray making something like 3 years 20 mill his next contract.

Novak doesn't make sense though, because he will get paid less his next contract. I think Ray will make more than 4 mill per when he signs his next deal. That is way to cheap for a starting PG. So by keeping him at 4 mill in that 4th year we are saving dough for FA's in 2015 and still keeping our starting PG.

Novak is by far the worse contract on our time. We could've gotten kover/kapno/Lewis/Allen for that price who are all better all-round players(minus kapno)
