Pretty much, Melo might be a bit overpaid, but if he were a FA he'd get that $23m from someone. So in that sense, he's at market value.

JR or Brew are probably the best deal.

Melo is making 19.4 this year, and he's not the top paid in the league when you compare his contract to others he's a bargain.

Especially a guy like Amare who is making 19.95 compare the two's contribution so far?

How about Joe Johnson? 19.8 mil tell me he contributes as much as Melo?

Kobe makes 28mil and 30 mil next yr, is he now today even better than Melo? If so, and thats debatable is he over 9MIL better?

    How about Gasol making 19MIL?

For what Melo brings to this team and simply having a superstar and how Jkidd talks about him he's worth his salary and then some.

Camby's is our worst contract. even Camby was shocked at the amount the Knicks were giving him. Brewer's is our best contract for his defense and some surprise threes.
J.R. would be too but he causes headaches and heartaches for fans sometimes.

I don't think anyone will be saying that in a few months.

$4m for the leagues best backup center and rebounder/shotblocker is not too much. and only 2 years are guaranteed.

    Best is JR, no question.

Worst is debatable. I mean do we really have any bad contracts other than Stoudemire's? Gun to my head I'd say one of our centers...

I mean a case could be made for Chandler (paying more than 12 mil a year to a center who's not top 5 in any big man category... I dunno) but his leadership, hustle and heart almost make him underpaid.

And Camby is only making about 4 mil a year which is a HELLUVA bargain for the best back up center in the game... but only if he doesn't miss more than 20 games a season.

Chandler is paid very fair for what he brings.
DPOY, Top 10 defense, most efficient season ever if he would have qualified.

Compare that to other Centers getting paid just as much or higher.

Tyson Chandler is getting paid 13.6
Brook Lopez is getting paid 13.6
Marc Gasol is getting paid 13.8
Deandre Jordan is getting paid 10 mil
Andrew Bogut is getting paid 13.1
Javale mcGee is getting paid 10 mil
Roy Hibbert is getting paid 13.6

Outside of Stat do we really have any bad contracts? I don't think so. Maybe Camby but that has yet to be seen. The fact that everything is off the books in 3 years is big.

Prigs and Brew are the best bargains on the team. How is Sheed getting 1.3? I'm not gonna call that a bad contract though.. lol

Actually Shumpert, out 1st rounders, Novak and Felton's 4.5 million PO are on the books so that should be about 12-16 million in commitment

I wasn't going to state the obvious, but we all know Iman has got the best contract.

I love that Novak will be the last man standing...

I hope he retires a Knick.

I think the vet min increases each year or each contract period you are in the league. So longer your in the league, the larger your minimum salary is. I could be wrong though but I'm pretty sure thats why Sheed is at 1.3M and Ronnie is like 880K.

Don't look now but J.R Smith is the #2 player in all of fantasy basketball right now.

    17.5 PPG
    5.0 RPG
    3.3 APG
    2.3 SPG
    .5 BPG

    2.8 3PM
    68.8 3PT%
    100% FT%

Glad I snagged him in one of my $$$ leagues. Dude is straight beast mode right now. He might be playing like a top 5 SG right now (not saying I expect that all season, but the potential is there).

I like Camby a lot and think he can provide a good bit for this team. I think it is easy to say Camby right now because he's barely played thus far.
