    Raymond Felton

Camby/Kidd are here to basically fix the current leadership/rebounding problems this season until we re-tool next off season.

I was ok with the deal until I saw he has a Player Option in yr 4.
4.5 million for a 32 yr old PG. Not feeling that. That's the year everyone but Iman/Novak/1st round picks expire. I'm not sure how Felton will be as a player at 32.

Our only bad contract is Amar'e but in terms of the future paying Felton 4.5 million sucks.

If you can't pick Amar'e the 2nd worst contract technically is Felton.
Camby isn't expected to play all 3 years and his last year isn't fully guaranteed. Novak's deal for a shooting specialist that will shoot above a 42% clip from 3 is a steal.
Everyone else is a small signing.

I've never been a huge Felton fan but right now he has one of the best contracts in the NBA.

$3.5m for a solid PG in his prime is unheard of.

Jameer Nelson is 3 years older and makes $9m per.

Lin, Conley, Dragic...etc.. all those guys make $8m+

Worst contract outside of Amare has to be Melo... hate to say it, he's obviously our best player, but he hasn't proven he can lead this team yet to justify a $22m contract.

He's been great SO FAR, but lets be honest, Kidd, Chandler have played a big role in that. Just like he needed Billups in DEN.

You can't pick STAT. There's no fun in that.

You can choose "none" if you wish.

For me I would have to pick Raymond Felton. I felt like a 4 year commitment, for him was way too much. He did not deserve a four year contract (even at a $4M annual salary) He had the worst statistical year of his career with Portland, I don't understand who we were competing against.

We all knew he would come to NY rejuvenated. Just felt like he could come cheaper or with a less commitment than a 4 year contract.

You can pick any of the "older" Knicks players if you think health will be an issue for them later on. Although I don't think Camby's contract is the worst because the third year of his contract isn't guaranteed.

And Some of you may pick Tyson because his contract takes up a substantial part of our payroll. While, I think we overpaid for Tyson I believe he's earned most of the $13M-14M anual salary so far by Winning DPOY, Playing Defense every night, minimizing injuries, and not being Brendan Haywood.

For Your Convenience Here are the Knicks Contracts (Credit To Hoopshype)

    -------------------12'-13 (This Season)---13'-14' ------14'-15'--------15'-16

    Carmelo Anthony----$19,450,000-----$21,490,000---$23,530,000(PO)---$0

    Tyson Chandler-----$13,604,188-----$14,100,538---$14,596,888-------$0

    Steve Novak----- $4,054,055-------$3,750,001---$3,445,947-----------$3,750,000

    Raymond Felton---$4,000,000----$4,180,000---$4,360,000--------------$4,540,000(PO)

    Marcus Camby----$4,590,338----$3,383,773---$4,177,208(UG)----------$0

    Jason Kidd--------$3,090,000----$3,090,000---$3,090,000--------------$0

    Iman Shumpert----$1,680,360----$1,797,600---$2,761,113 (TO)--$3.9M(QO)

    J.R. Smith---------$2,806,452-----$2,932,742(PO)

    Kurt Thomas-------$1,352,181

    Rasheed Wallace---$1,352,181

    Ronnie Brewer------$1,069,509

    Pablo Prigioni-------$473,604

    Chris Copeland-----$473,604

    (PO)= Player Option

    (TO)= Team Option

    (UG)= Salary Not Fully Guaranteed

**(QO)= Qualifying Offer. Knicks can choose to offer Shumpert a one year $3.9M Salary for the '15-16 Season.** If Shumpert rejects this Qualifying Offer, Knicks can still match any contract offered to Shump by another team and keep him.**

Also for fun, Who you think has the "Best" contract is on this roster?

For me, I'll have to go with J.R. Smith

I feel like the fact JR Smith took a hometown discount to resign with us, the 6th man Role He's In, and a coach who believes in him is going to make J.R. a big part of our future.

Playing for a measly $2.8M salary this year, with a $3M Player Option for next season, an option he will surely decline. But since Smith has been on the Knicks for two years J.R. is eligible for "Early Bird Rights", allowing the Knicks to exceed the salary Cap to sign Him up to a four year contract starting at $5.3M in '13-14.

I don't think Carmelo has the "best" contract. He's making $19M this season, $21M next season, and $23M the third season. For that amount of money he's making and the amount of salary cap space it takes, he better play like LeBron. (Or maintain how he's played so far four games into the season)
    but it is amare

I don't know where you get your numbers, but Melo is making 19.45 million dollars this year. Stoudemire is making approximately half a million more than him this year as well.

And what do you mean lead this team yet?? We haven't had a team since we traded for this guy. Do you forget how diluted this roster was right after that Melo trade? How injury riddled we were against Boston in the playoffs, than no training camp last year with half our roster changed over and than once again the injury woes we had to deal with against Miami?

I don't know what team you're speaking of, but to me, this is the first year they've actually had a team around Carmelo. The team is so deep now, we can afford to lose our other max player for long periods of time and still play pretty well.

All things considered, especially knowing he was our only weapon last year in the playoffs, I think he's earned his contract a lot more than Stoudemire has.

his contract averages to about $23m per...and yes of course he's earned it more than Amare.

But lets be honest we've done nothing since Melo came here.

Camby looks like the worse right now. Really hasn't hit the court. Flip a coin between JR and Brewer as the best.

Thanx to Yash for the ill sig

    Ridnour making 4 mil
    Andre Miller making 5 mil
Calderon overpaid but making 10 mil

Even a scrub like Steve blake is making 4 mil

Not sure what you are complaining about

Brewer is easily the best contract, his production has been insane for a vet min.

Worst contract minus amare is... No one tbh. The rest of the team is earning a pretty fair deal for us. Including melo...

Were lucky to have a lot of the players we got for the contracts were paying them.

It's not complaining. I'm answering the Q of the thread. Who is the worse contract after Amar'e? Imo no one is since we have everyone else at a bargain however technically speaking Felton has the 2nd worse.

    Not a big deal.
Novak getting paid 3-4 million to shoot at worse 42% from 3.
    Camby and Kidd are bargains.
Everyone else is a low signing.
All that's left is Felton. I don't even want to bring up Melo contract since this place would explode.

take your homer glasses off, he's done NOTHING since being traded here 2 years ago. We've never been higher than a 7 seed, and he's shot 44% and quit on D'antoni 20 games in.

Guys making $23m should be carrying their teams to 50 win seasons.

im not gonna turn this into a melo bashing, because he's been GREAT so far this year, but it amazes me how people act like he's been so great here.
