@Pilam76 I have no idea. Maybe they just hold him and lose him like Reyes. To keep the illusion of viable ownership alive longer.
I could see that happening too

Depends on what the Mets can get in return for him, obviously. But if losing Wright means the Wilpons and their baseball-foolish ways are gone, and the Mets can be successful again, then that's what should happen.

    Report makes no sense.

Why would they state in public that they were going to begin working on a deal for Wright immediately after the season ended if they know they can't do it?

I wonder if Kansas City would be willing to give up Moustakas in a trade for Wright, considering that they're on the brink of contention and Wright could certainly help them out a ton.

Cuban for Mets owner in '15
Now lets trade Wright and Dickey, then spend money in '15/'16.

Mark Cuban being the owner would be the greatest thing ever. And by ever, I mean EVER.

Sadly, I don't see it happening.

One issue with something he said though:

And Mets lack of cash, I'm told, is the reason they deferred Bay. More than a baseball decision, they just pass that along to next owner.

Um, then wouldn't paying Wright huge money when he's not worth it anymore (at ages 36-38) be passed along to next owner as well?

Yeah of course. I would too. Wright should retire as a Met.

If they were so broke they could have declined the options on both Dickey and Wright.
    The situation isn't that dire.

Then they would have been forced out of ownership for sure because that's too obvious that their broke.

By picking up the options, they could still be traded.

That's true. Realize this information isn't available to the common fan. I don't think this is in the NY Post or Daily News. We only know about it because we're part of this forum.

yeah, but they'd still be paying him "huge chunks of cash" while the Wilpons have the team. They don't want to do anything.
