I want Wright on this team so much more than Headley. I just like name brands. I feel like the quality is better in the long run.

Oh same here. David Wright is a guy I've been following his whole career and he's been one of my favorites since he came up. I'd take Wright over Headley all day but I would love having either on the Cubs. Plus, I think age will be much friendlier to David Wright and he would be worth a long term extension.
I really hope Hoyer delivers some goods in November like he says. I wonder how badass of a move it will be.

So you have an optimistic side as well? I have to find one of those.
Just wanted to throw out an idea...how about checking in with Stephen Drew to see if he would play 3B? He's a bounce back candidate probably looking at a max 2-year deal (might take one year to try to prove himself) and could be a decent trade candidate at the deadline. Teams are always looking for MI help. Hoyer did say the team might need to be creative to fill the hole at third. Thoughts?
Buster Olney:
Wow.If the Giants finish their deal with Jeremy Affeldt, it's expected to be for about $18 million over three years."
Wright has been far superior to Headley throughout. What if Headley is AJ Burnett rather than the stud his 2012 might imply if it's all you look at? Its not as if Headley is significantly younger and the prospect haul could be argued to be even to steeper. Why is Wright the ARod of the two anyway beyond being the better, far more proven talent?
Also, no one will touch him because of said extension through age 42/43.
