WHat do you think the starting lineup should be?

    Explain why?

We have seen a couple of starting lineups so far this year and the rotation and starting lineup has been debated in the game threads so I thought a thread for discussing the lineup made sense.

    I'd like to see

    1. Rondo
    2. Terry
    3. Jeff Green(Pierce for until December)
    4. Bass
    5. KG

I think Terry has played a lot better when running with the starting lineup and Jeff Green has shown in the past when playing for OKC that he is much better in the starting lineup. I dont think Green is ready yet to step into the starting role but in a month I like to see this lineup.

Bass is way ahead of where Sullinger is and Sully certainly belongs in the rotation but off the bench for now.

WHen Avery Bradey returns I think he is better suited as an energy guy off the bench and Courtney Lee also belongs off the bench as he has been mediocre at best in the starting lineup.

    pg-Rondo
    sg-Lee (Bradley when he returns)
    sf-Pierce
pf-Jeff (don't like how he's performing off the bench)
    C- Kevin

    PG- Rondo
    SG- J. Terry (Bradley/ return)
SF- P. Pierce (J. Green/ first off bench)
PF- C. Wilcox (Bass/ second off bench)
    C- K. Garnett (Darko/ third off bench)

This team needs rebounding energy, Wilcox gives you size on the glass and energy. It's worth a try.

    2nd unit could look like

    PG- Terry
    SG- Lee + Barbosa
    SF- J. Green
    PF- B. Bass
    C- Darko

    This line-up assures one thing:

The Celts will be the worst rebounding team in the league.

6/27/09: “We expect [Rondo] to play by the rules and be a leader as a point guard. We need him to be more of a leader,” Ainge said. “There were just a couple situations where he was late this year, I don’t know if he was sitting in his car, but showed up late and the rest of the team was there. We have team rules and you have to be on time. He was fined for being late, he said he was stuck in traffic, and it’s just unacceptable.”

    Rondo
    Pierce
    Green
    Sully
    KG

At this point in his career PP should start games on opposing two's and switch to the 3 when green is not in the game. PP has the 3pt shot and size to play the 2, he just lacks the quickness to play it the whole game

I like this for the most part, but there is no way Wilcox is gonna start, he can't handle the number of minutes.

    I'd say go with Sully.

And any chance we have of changing that is down the drain with those starters.

    BTW the ranking the past 4 years is 29th, 29th, 29th, 30th

I'd be curious to see: Rondo - Pierce - Green - Bass - KG for ***** and giggles.

Shifting Pierce to SG is an interesting idea but we have a ton of SG's already. If we had a different bench I'd be intrigued by it but with Terry, and soon Bradley it is highly unlikely.

I understand though when you say its just for shiggles

If Green starts I'd like him at the 3

Offensively I think it works, but defensively I think Pierce gets burned more often than not...

The starting line-up I want is Rondo-AB-Pierce-Bass-KG... Until then these first couple of months are going to include lots of battles, but eventually Doc will steer this ship straight... Too many veterans right now to panic...
