    Similar thing happened to me in 1970 when I was 8. I was walking down the street when a VW bug stopped next to me and opened the door. I ran like hell. Hippies still scare the crap out of me.

    We live in a culture of perpetual fear of all things unknown, so unfortunately ridiculous stories like this happen across the country where people become scared and contact the authorities over nothing.

    Just today in my area there was a story about a kid having the cops called on him b/c he was parked on a street in a residential area after getting lost. Last year I remember a story of somebody calling the cops and a bomb squad being brought in after somebody left a dirty diaper outside at a showing of this house.
